Commemorative coins usually found in three types:
Regular issue coinage: These are normal coins used for daily purposes.
Circulating Commemoratives: These coins are used for commercial purposes
Non-circulating legal tender coins: These coins are legal tender, therefore intended to be used as souvenirs, so it’s produced in gold or silver.
Commemorative gold coins are the coins which are made of purely of gold; the coin carries memory of event or person.

Lewis & Clark Exposition commemorative Coin:
It was started from April 13, 1904 .It was started to pay tribute to two explorer Lewis and Clark. As they were the first trailblazers, who made it possible for other discovers to give a lift of American expansion.
Designed by Engraver Charles Barber, the obverse bears the portrait of Lewis and the reverse bears the portrait of Clark. All of the Lewis and Clark dollars were struck in Philadelphia mint. In 1904, 25,000 pieces were produced.

The Thomas Jefferson Presidential Dollar
The Thomas Jefferson Presidential dollar was released into circulation on August 16, 2007, and it is the third in multi-year prudential series. Thomas Jefferson is one of America’s favourite founding fathers.
