Krugerrand Gold Coin
Krugerrand is a South African coin which was first minted in 1967 in order to help South African gold market. These coins have legal tender status in South Africa but it was not intended to be used as money, thus it is regarded as medal-coin.
Krugerrand was the first gold coin which contains one ounce of fine gold. Most Krugerrand coins were minted between 1970 and 1980 to meet the demand of gold coin buyers.

South African Krugerrand coins were first imported into United States just after when American got the right to buy and own gold bullion since Dec 31, 1974.

The fractional ounce is not generally available; if it’s available they are usually lower priced than fractional-ounce Gold Eagles.
